Here is information regarding the Mardi Gras Festival as of March 8th, 2017. Some things may be subject to change but these are the current details and happenings for the event:

General Information

  • Six Flags Fiesta Texas will host a Mardi Gras Festival from March 24th through April 30th.

  • The event will feature a Mardi Gras-theme parade that includes 8 parade floats.

  • The entrance to the park will be heavily themed around the streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

  • Special characters themed to the event will be found around the park.

  • Entertainment will expand during the event and provide live music that is themed to Mardi Gras.

  • Specialty foods will include King Cake, beignets, Cajun popcorn craw fish, jambalaya, gumbo, and more. Adult beverages will include New Orleans Hurricanes and Southern Comfort Sweet Tea. Some Mardi Gras food options will also be featured as a part of the Dining Pass.

Parade Details

  • The parade will take place at 5:30pm each evening and run through Rockville, Spassburg, and Kidzopolis.

  • Guests will have the opportunity to purchase a wristband inside the park that grants them participation in the parade. Those participating will dress up in Mardi Gras gear and ride the floats through the parade route.

  • The parade route will be outlined inside the park so that guests know where to observe from.

  • Mardi Gras Festival logos will be placed throughout the parade route. These logos signify spots where floats will stop to throw beads and provide other entertainment, including the King William Brass Band.

  • Music written exclusively for the park will play during the parade.

  • All floats have been designed and built by Kern Studios, a New Orleans-based company that specializes in Mardi Gras-themed floats.

  • The park touts that the floats are up to 16 feet tall.
