In 1999, Six Flags Fiesta Texas added a huge addition of high-thrill, children’s and water park attractions. The expansion was intended to spark new interest in the park and increase attendance. Paying tribute to the state of Texas, Six Flags unveiled a large Texas-shaped wave pool called Lone Star Lagoon in Fiesta Texas' water park section. This huge pool continues to operate today as one of the most well-known visual representations of the park.
