New Fiesta Texas Updates for 2019
We had the privilege of going to Winterfest, an American Coaster Enthusiasts event, on January 26. Six Flags Fiesta Texas came to the event and gave us new updates as 2019 projects progress. Below is a look at many of the topics discussed during the park’s presentation.
In-Park Improvements/Changes
Multiple bathrooms are currently being remodeled around the park. Rockville is first on the list. Fiesta Texas is also supplying temporary bathrooms near the remodel locations while these upgrades are happening.
Mobile ordering will be coming to various restaurants at the park, including the all-new Chop Six. Other restaurants are yet to be determined. Mobile ordering will take place in the official Six Flags mobile app. No confirmation has been given for a launch date on this new feature.
Park-wide WiFi will be coming to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. No information regarding a launch date or pricing details has been released.
The Joker Wild Card/Whirligig
The Joker Wild Card is still set to open during the summer of 2019. It does appear that perhaps the name will change to The Joker based off new media information handed out during Winterfest.
A queue line experience is being potentially teased for The Joker Wild Card. It is possible that we may see some kind of funhouse-themed queue line much like the park’s former Joker’s Revenge roller coaster used to provide.
It appears that Whirligig will likely be reinstalled in the park. Crime Wave will not be the name. We are expecting a different theme related to DC Universe characters.
Other Important Updates
American Coaster Enthusiasts’ Fiesta Fest event will take place on February 23 to celebrate the park’s Mardi Gras Festival event.
ChopSix has a planned spring opening with no confirmed exact date.
Spitze’s Sweets is currently being remodeled into a Coaster Candy. The new shop will feature fudge, candied/caramel apples, and more candy choices.
Many water slides in White Water Bay are currently receiving new gel coats.
