Multi-Ride DC Universe Expansion (Update 5), Hurricane Harbor Expansion (Update 2)

New DC Universe Rides Begin Arriving On-Site

Theming elements for The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway have arrived. The attraction will feature custom artwork by DC Comics, along with a themed sewer segment (pictured above).

The first shipment of pieces for Cyborg: Cyber Revolution have also arrived to the park.

Several seat units for Cyborg: Cyber Revolution, which will feature over-the-shoulder restraints, have also made their arrival.

Some of Cyborg: Cyber Revolution’s massive arms were also part of the first shipment to arrive.

Some of Cyborg: Cyber Revolution’s themed components, such as the gears shown above, are a functional part of the ride’s operation.

Several pieces of Metropolis Transit Authority have also arrived to Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

These winding pieces of steel will be part of Metropolis Transit Authority’s track.

Metropolis Transit Authority will also have a transfer track for its trains, located on the backside of its station.

In total, Metropolis Transit Authority will require fifty-three columns for its structure.

Pictured above are some of the beefier track segments for Metropolis Transit Authority. These segments feature a coaster-like spin and will span over the area’s larger thoroughfares.

DC Universe Expansion Construction Site Tour

Formerly known as Little Kidz Cafe, the dining location within the DC Universe expansion is being rethemed and will feature a new menu that includes pizza.

The general area has been fully closed off as crews work on preparing footers for Metropolis Transit Authority.

Footers for Metropolis Transit Authority span across the new area’s preexisting dining location.

Several conduit runs, which are mapped out with these cuts in the concrete, will be required to operate Metropolis Transit Authority.

Prep work for Metropolis Transit Authority footers is taking place along the backside of The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway.

The water feature behind The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway has been temporarily filled while footer work continues. Once complete, the dirt will be removed and the water feature will return.

A great deal of footer work has taken place for Shazam! Tower of Eternity. More concrete will be poured prior to the ride structure’s installation.

Conduit runs have begun for the new DC Universe attractions. In the background is the future site of Cyborg: Cyber Revolution, which is planned to open first out of the three new rides.

Soon enough, footers for Metropolis Transit Authority will be poured in front of Green Lantern Emerald Flight.

Since our last visit, DC Universe signage has been installed in the area’s preexisting fountain feature.

Hurricane Harbor San Antonio Slide Additions

Both RipQurl and Vortex will be able to accommodate larger riders once they open.

Due to their positioning in the water park, riders and onlookers will have a great view of the new slides.

The other new slides, which include Wipeout, Cowabunga, Bonzai Pipelines and Stingray Racer, are intended for smaller guests only.

The pool area for the new water slides is complete and full of water. Depth ranges from 18 to 24 inches.
